Silk Habotai or Habutai (also called china silk) is one of the most basic plain weaves. While it was traditionally woven in Japan a few decades ago, most silk habotai is today woven in China. Silk habotai is well-absorbed dye and printed colors on its surface.
Silk habotai is normally a lining silk but can also be used for shirts, lampshades, summer blouses, very light lingerie and camisole. Silk habotai weights range from 6mm ~ 19mm, light to mid-weight, however, it is widely used for lining fabric range of 6mm ~ 8mm.
